At the time the annual goes to press, two girls, Gene Ann Mathews and Mabel Shipley, are in the lead f.or for the valedlctorianship, Because the grades are very close, it is impossible to determine at this time which one will receive the honor. Ruby Dannar has the highest ranking in the class but is ineligible for the valedlctorianship because she has taken only three years work in the Grant City High School. Several of these students have not only been leaders of their class in scholar- ship but have been- very active in extra-curricular activities. The most recent honor coming to an individual in this group was that of winning the district American Legion Oratlonal contest by Gene Ann Mathews. 11
