SCHOOL HISTORY Before the town of Grant Clty Was founded the nearest d1s trlct school was located one half m1le West of the square In 1867 th1s school house was moved to Grant Clty and a summer term was taught Thus It Was that the Grant Clty school came 1nto belng and l1ke all great 1nst1tut1ons had a humble beglnmng In 1869 a frame school bu1ld1ng was bu1lt south east of the square The school soon outgrew the bu1ld1ng and a four room brlck bu1ld1ng was erected on the present s1te 1n 1876 In 1883 th1s bulldlng Was doubled ln S1Z9 Twenty years later It was torn down and the present bu1ld1ng was erected In 1919 because of lncreaslng numbers of students and the addlng of new classes an addltlonal blllldlllg was bullt to the south Grant Clty has had a flrst class hlgh school slnce 1906 We are proud of our school because of What she has done ln the past and because of the 1nd1cat1on of a st1ll brlghter future.
