CSF Carries Gut Its High Standards. Granite Hills High School Chapter 646-S is an affiliate of the California Scholarship Federation the state's honorary scholastic association for academically outstanding high school students. Fostering high standards of scholarship, service, and citizenship on the part ofthe senior high school student is the purpose of the association. liligibility for membership in the organiyation is contingent upon a student's making a minimum of ten points a semester in essentially academic subjects. an A counting three points and a B counting one point. Graduating seniors who have been members of CSF for at least four semesters during their last three years of high school are honored by being des- ignated SFAl.BlzARliRS or LIFE MFM BFRS. The Sealbearers are given special recognition relative to their receiving scholarships. The official CSF l.ife Membership Pin is aviarded to them at the time oftheir high school graduation. the Federation Chapter Seal is placed upon their diplomas. perrnanent records, transcripts. and other official documents. The annual CSF l-all Potluck was held in late November at Granite Hills High School. ln addition to enjoying a superb dinner. the members savn Europe through the eyes ofa very special CSF member who had toured liurope last summer and whose charming and laughter-laden speech in- trigued the group for at least an hour. She was Susie Rocci. The organization has continued at a minimum cost, its tutoring services for other knowledge-thirsty students. The only fund-raising activity of the organiLation is its sponsorship of the legendary brovs nie booth at the high school's annual Mardi Gras during May. Concluding the year's activities. is the Club's Sealbearer Banquet given at one of the area's exculsive eating places to those students who have earned Sealbearer status. l. Advisor.
