PRINCIPAL AND DEANS Principal Hatch endeared himself to the student body with his intrinsic qualities of understanding and in- genuity. His ambitions to obtain choir robes and a ha'rd-surfaced parking lot became a reality. With the assistance of the school play, the P.T.A., the Boys' and Girls' Leagues, the support of the students, and an unswerving determination, he has endeavored for many years to bring these improvements to Granite. This counselor, intrepid and dignified, instills in the students a desire to serve democratic ideals. Lorenzo H. Hatch, Principal agp? , .. ' . . 0 X K. Q A Ann Peh son, Dean of Girls Ann Pehrson, Dean of Girls, searched for solutions to the problems confronting her girls. She kept busy planning socials, telephoning parents, purchasing gifts and birthday greetings, and solacing her co-workers. Dean of Boys, Reho Thorum, consulted vigorous Boys' League officers, labored with registration problems, and counseled errant boys. His equitable tribunal provided a retreat for all male members seeking guid- ance and advice.
