Highlights and shadows frame the S build- ng on a drowsy September afternoon, WINTER and cold weather bring on radiator romances and frozen noses nthe school play-Thanksgiving dinner. The white-frosted roofs drip glisten- ing icicles in the cold blue mornings, and bushes snuggle deep down in their soft blankets of white, We come back from the holidays still humming Christmas carols, and then dig reluctantly in for a fast, hard review before the tests. Winter brings sleigh rides, cider and doughnuts, and, rnayhap, a new man in your life. ,A-N 7 3 'Q GL , 51 JP 'L . 9-.JA 'qv- uuf W - .,, ' -. - rf .. 1 if 5,1 , A, - 1, - ,Q , is it bb 'Ms' ,,.,..1f- I. .Q , . .I SPRHIG rosesoolored dag' dreamsfjpinup the rope on side:-falksftne steady rnytnm of rain blending sleepily' the drone of a Zoology report, Spring is the Senior Hop and the Girls' Dance, club parties and rehearsals for graduation. On Ianuary 5, league play in the Big Six commenced. East and Granite met on the Deseret Gym Eloor. At halftime Granite led, 15-9, but the fighting Leopards came back strongly and the third period score was 21-20 for Granite. ln the final quarter, Lind- quist, Smith, and Clark connected time after time to bring us the 34-26 victory. The next Friday night, in our first home game, we met South l-ligh's Cubs, and won the game by the score of 39-25. Doug Smith was high-point man, scoring l2 points, Our old grudge with Davis was resumed on Ianuary l9, when our Farmer boys traveled to Kaysville. Four hard-fought and score-tied quarters ended and the score was 25-25. Two extra periods were necessary to decide the outcome. By careful and accurate passing, the Farmers, in the second extra period, worked the ball to Doug Smith for the payoff shot that won a thrilling game. East action in the East game.
