GO FOR IT The most pressing challenge of today is to see things in their propter perspective and to be able to divide your time and efforts effectively. Some people are not interested in becoming involved. They don't want the responsibility of decision making. They just say let George do it. and slide by without making any contribution. These people offer many excuses for not doing things they should. Perhaps the most over-worked of these excuses is I don't have time. This is not telling it like it is. We all have the same amount of time - twenty four hours every day. Mostly we do with our time what we want. It would be more truthful to say my time is filled with other things that I consider more important. When we get right down to the nitty-gritty, most of us waste as much or more time than we use wisely. In reality that is a big difference between achievers and non-achievers. An achiever is one who gets things done and does not waste time. A non-achiever is just the opposite. The achiever is always busy, while the non-achiever procrastinates. The achiever may not always use his time wisely. Often he forgets some of the essentials. For example, he may neglect his home or school responsibilities so that he can devote more time to something else. At least he is not wasting time. He is using it unwisely. He is not being fair fo an essential responsibility. As graduating seniors I hope you accept the challenge to do your best to put first things first in your lives. I hope you'll also pledge yourselves to use your over and above time and effort to the greatest possible advantage in accomplishing the greatest good for yourselves and for others. To the underclassmen: Don't let George do it. Accept the challenge today to become involved. Sincerely, Cloy Sykes, Principal 8
