You cannot be too wise, but you can be too clever. 5 True pleasure lies in the sharing of joy with another. 9 Nothing is lost as long as your hope, is not lost. Life is what it is; you cannot change it, but you can always change yourself. 13 14 TO THE CLASS OF 81 Aim at the sun and you may not reach it, but your arrow will fly far higher than if you aimed at an ob- ject on a level with yourself. So said Joel Hawes. Putting it another way, you will never go any higher in life than your ambitions lead you; or you will never be any more successful in life than you plan to be. Often in everyday life we look about us and see some successful person. Almost invariably we attribute their success to lucky breaks. But this is not so. A streak of so-called good luck may get individuals ahead temporarily, but luck alone will not keep him in the forefront. What you accomplish in life depends on what you do. Others may advise and encourage and suggest, but you are the one who determines the final outcome. In other words, you are the master of your own fate. My advice to you is that you control life, don't let it control you. CLOY SYKES o) X © ■ Z H cc JANET LYNNE BLYTHE Remembers going clothes shopping with R.H. and meeting a bunch of people. It's a complete week of activities. During this year s Homecoming Week, students dressed specially each day. Monday-T-Shirt Day, Tuesday-Hat Day, Wed- nesday-60 s Day, Thursday-Flatlander Day, Friday-Toga Day. Friday also included a Pep Assembly, where the 1980-81 Homecoming Royalty was announced. Friday evening featured a Pep Rally thru town with the football players and cheerleaders. Followed by a bonfire. The football players then entered their locker room, which was decorated in orange and black by the cheerleaders. The team then played Sultan, losing 21-0, in a game that the Tigers just couldn t get untracked offensively. The week concluded with a rockin 1 dance Saturday night, powered by Deadlock. 82 Jim Becker Kathy Bernethy Jenni Berube Shawn Biering Marie Bond John Brown Dwayne Byer Jody Byron I Brenda Campbell Joe Cartwright 84 Mary Cartwright Gloria Chappell Brad Colman Rick DeGeus Lee Desrosier Shannon Dunnick Sharon Dunnick Shery l Dunnick Charles Finley David Frick Rick Gallegos Tama Gildroy 85 Sue Goss Paula Graves Steve Greene Pam Haase Norm Hisey Darryl Howe Dave Hackworth Katrina Hawkins 86 Carl Kiepe John Kussy Darci Latham Daina Lee Todd Macomber Shell! Our home, (the Old High School ), built in 1938, went through its much needed remodeling. We all sacrificed throughout the school year: Student lockers were relocated, Mr. Martinec and Miss Prince's classes shared the old cafeteria with a family of mice, and we ail worked around the continued pounding and drilling of the construction crews. But upon returning next fall, all of us will reap the profits of our sacrifices when we step into our New School ! The Middle School will be something that you, your parents and the entire community will be proud of. Principal, John Flaherty The Middle School students achieved several special goals during the 1980-81 school year. Under the direction of A.S.B. President Karen McElroy, the student government displayed and offered more student activities, Conducted more organized meetings, and put on better dances than ever before. Under the direction of Mr. Guard, the annual Talent Shows have become out- standing productions. Ms. Greig's English classes produced a very professional school paper. The Tiger Times, and a great journal. The Red Water Magazine. With Mr. Foss and Mr. Donaldson's guiding, the basketball teams enjoyed successful seasons. And of course the outdoor school program is always a success. The whole class works very hard to earn the money to go. They are really doing a good job so far. They now have earned over three thousand dollars. Since the Outdoor education program takes place in the Spring we have just taken a picture of the class, so here they are, the whole sixth grade! Advisors: Miss Fransson, Mr. Merkely, Miss Prince. Below are the Gold Pass Students. Each quarter, the teachers nominate and elect twenty students for the Gold Pass Award. The Gold Pass is given to the students who display outstanding citizenship, leadership, and a positive and happy attitude. Each quarter the Gold Pass winners attend a field trip, have an hour of free time activities, are treated to a snack, and enjoy other various privileges.
