JOHN WEST Mathematics OUR COOKS, Mrs. Wilder and Mrs. Stilley, helped make 66-67 a year to remember by preparing delicious hot lunches with lots of baked goods, hot from the oven. CUSTODIANS Mr. Jake Schcrrer and Mr. Al Bond kept our school warm and clean during 66-67, a big task well done. BUS DRIVERS are important to our school's operations. Bring ing the kids safely between home and school this year were Mrs. Tupper, Mr. Eisenhauer, Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Woolman, and Mr. Bogart. Mr. Bogart also served as bus mechanic. 6 SENIORS At a Pep Assembly. The Seniors helped to make the year a success by providing the underclassmen with the leadership they need. Dee Jay Zerfoss represented themas A.S.B. Presi- dent with Lyle Lunclberg and Bill Stanton as Student Council Representatives. Class officers were Jerry Gamble-Presi- dent, Ronnie Moen-Vice President, and Reila Morris-Secretary. Mr. Gliva was their advisor. The Seniors graduated with the boys wearing Royal-Blue and the girls wearing Ice-Blue caps and gowns. The girls carried long stem w'hite roses, which was their class flower. Veterans' Day assembly featured a panel discussion by Judy Wilde, Rella Morris, Roger Hirschinger, and Jeanie Turner. Also participating were Trudy Nelson and Jerry Gamble. They earned money by selling concessions at games and sponsoring dances. The Junior class chose their class flower, the American Beauty Rose which corre- sponds with their colors red and white. Their advisor was Mrs. Lindstrand. The Student Council representatives were Kay Stinson and Betty Blythe. Ida Nelson was their Homecoming princess. She was escorted by Ronnie Moen. The class showed much school spirit. They were led by Jeri Running and Ida Nelson as Cheerleaders. The Sophomore class was active in many activities such as football, basketball, tennis, Girls' Club and many others. They sponsored Soc Hops and sold concessions at football and basketball games. They participated in many activities such as football, basket- ball, tennis, Girls Club, Drill Team and many more. One of the highlights of the year was their initiation by the class of '67, which was followed by a Senior-Frosh dance. Their Homecoming princess for this year was Sharlena Lee, escorted by Kerry Dickson. The class Advisor was Mr. West. Not so tall as the opposition, they frequently came out on the short end of the scoring. However, they were never short on spirit, and fought through some exciting games. 1966-67 JR. Junior Varsity The Junior Varsity showed real spirit through a hard-fought season in 66-67. No giants came forth, but some very promising players emerged. 1966-67 JR. This is the cabin that was built by a shop class and financed by the A.S.B. When it was finished, it was auctioned off and the profits went to the Associated Student Body. They spon- sored many activities and made plans for more. The activities were well organized under their leadership. Some of the activities they sponsored were the building of a cabin by a cabin construction class and the writing of a book on the history of Granite Falls by a history class. They also sponsored a magic show with Merlin the Great, and a school carnival with all activity groups participating. Plans were made for a sign board in front of the school and for rearranging the trophy case and the class pictures in the hall. The ring toss game at the A. S. B. Carnival. Girls’ Club This years Girls Club helped to make 1967 a year to re- member. They started the year with the Homecoming Dance, held October 28. The theme was Lollipops and Hoses. They also sponsored the Tolo, Winter Wonderland, held January 28. They held many bake sales and pie sales through- out the year to earn money. They held dances, sold concessions at football and basket- ball games, and sponsored the Faculty - Letter men football game. They also worked with the Girls1 Club to put on the Homecoming. Besides those pictured here, there were many other students who helped in various ways. We also had good cooperation with our publish- ers representative, Mr. Durham. Merchants and businessmen from Everett, Marysville, Arlington, Snohomish, and Frontier Village, as well as tlie Granite Falls District, supported our yearbook with advertisements. Mari- lyn Matlock was the Editor and Kathie Boyd was the Sec- retary. Members of the staff were Pat Huber, Gail Westland, Randy Flansburg, Theresa Medrano, Gloria Roche, Sharon Yelmene, Mike Whipple, Barb Nelson, Marcia McFarland, and Carrol Howe. Mrs. King was advisor. This year they included ads in the paper to help with the costs.
