May 22. The place? The new studio of Schmalt Dusney's Dusneyland located in Granite Falls. The population of Granite has now risen to the astounding total of 503 As I entered this metropolis, through the gates of Fantasy Land, I was approached by a dashing white steed, topped by a. knight in shining armor. I soon recognized this enchanting knight as Robert Bowyer. I was engaged in a very lively conversation with Bob when out of the silence I heard the passionate cry of 'Oh Arnie!' When I looked quiz- zically at Bob he immediately explained that it was Arnie Scherrer going rough the Tunnel of Love with the latest sensation in shimmy dancers, ii Willard. I ran to the rescue of my old friend, Arnie, whom should I bump at the cirucs thin man, Ray Hughes. Ray explained how this all came about--by a strict diet of wine, women and song! After three weeks of this, Who wouldn't lose? Ray commented. From Fantasy Land I approached Adventure Land where I received the news that the latest and greatest explorer of all time, Jerry Larsen, has just returned from six years in darkest Africa. I was warned not to approach him since six years had passed since he'd seen a woman, an you know Jerry! Further into this escapade of mine I saw a Dillboard, a city block long, on which was the large black letter, THE FRIENDLY BROS. From the pictures, even with pincurls and beards, I knew immediately it was John and Max Spromberg, now a famous tag team in the field of wrestling. Parading in front of this billboard was a big 260-piece band, led by Gorgeous George Russell. Marching with him was the world-famous major- ette Carole McGillivray and her four little McGillivrayettes. I heard a grunt.' Where did it come from? Jfy old classmate, Zeal Barstow. From the barker's spiel I gathered that he was the only weight lifter that used live dumbells. His latest one was Dora Dumbell, better known to us as Sharon Woolman. On to Frontier Land to greet Wild Bill Rawlins, the only unmarried woman tamer. Wild Bill had a complete collection of women in his cages. On the top shelf, third cage to the left, I spied an old Buddy, Donna Burden. She was Wild Bill's best trained hoop jumper and was classified A-l in her category. The sole owner of all live stock used in Dusney films, little, speedy John Burrus, strutted toward me. John told me that Sharon Dearinger was the chief cook and baby-bottle washer at his ranch. Meanwhile back at the ranch I noticed Sharon must have been tasting all her goodies because at first glance she reminded me of a little round bead . Laughing hysterically, I started toward Tomorrow Land, where I heard an even more insane giggle than my own. I peered into the room from which the noise seemed to be coming, and there, in front of me, straight from the pages of a book, stood a mad scientist, Lewie Winje. He was about to shoot a magic potion into the arm of Richard Hunt. From the conversation that ensued, I found that the potion was to add curl to Wee Bitty's hhir. A sound of a door crashing down mingled with the terrifying sound of Wee Bit screaming. In floated a man wearing a space suit and madly pointing a ray gun directly at the window in which I was peering. I was quick to re- cognize the face under the fish bowl as none other than Ted Lefebre. My eyes were g_ued to his trigger finger as I saw it slowly pull back, I felt myself failing, falling, falling.......... I awoke with a thump and found myself lying on the floor, safe at home. %OiCC cutct We, the most superior and eminent Class of 1957, feeling most generous and kind hearted, wish to leave to the following students of this institution a few small items to show our never lasting friendship. Boys' State was held the first week and Girls' State the following. They really appreciated the opportunity to learn about government and meeting many new friends. I won my trip to Kansas City, Missouri last October 1956. The contest was nation- wide, and began in March of '56. I competed in Stock, Swine, and Poultry judging, and the results were sent to Brooklyn, New York where they were compared with entries from all over the nation. In September, I learned I would represent Washington State in the National Contest. October 12-22, I spent in Kansas competing for the National title, and $2,000.00 cash.
