Emma Jean Yount who married before graduation is very happy in her new home in Fairbanks, Alaska. Mary Stirewalt an English Teacher at Rhodhiss Elemen- tary is soon to be transferred to Duke University. Lura Jean Coffey is now the 330 pound Fat Lady in Ringling Brothers Circus. Nell Fulbright is a top star wrestler on T. V. Next week will determine whether she is champion of the world. Juanita Hollar has such a love for animals she is working at the Bar-X Ranch hearding ca ttle for Roy Rogers. Since Betty Jo Helton has always made such a hit with the men, she has finally landed one, due to the fact that Betty can ' t cook, she feeds him raw peanuts and green apples. Since Margaret Hoyle has such lovely white teeth and a radiant smile she is employed by the Rot Em Out Tooth Paste Company . Jaylene Johnson is now 6ft. 3in. tall and is now a player for the House of David Team. Sylvia Kirby has such delicate manners that she has at last won Jerry Lewis ' heart and they planned to make their home in Hollywood, California. Betty Jean Kiziah is now operating a team of mules on hers and Radar ' s one-half acre farm. Joanne Lane is the top Model at Conover Model Agency in New York. How she did it, we don ' t know but she has come down to a nineteen inch waist. Vonda Carter is bookkeeping at Ivey ' s Department Store in Charlotte, North Carolina. We are afraid that she will loose her job since she has more interest in her lovely black hair than she has in her business, Bobby Weaver and Charles Holloway who joined the Navy before graduation are now Commanders of the two biggest vessels of the United States. Gee ! Girls ! Listen to this ! Delma Marshall married one of Hollywood ' s most famous stars, Tony Curtis, but wait- -she has filed for a divorce to marry one of them thar fellers up in the Ozark Mountains. Frank Teague is now manager of all the Dixie Home Stores in North Carolina. Joe Richards is now the very successful business man who owns a chain of Garages in Bumtown. Stewart Hollar our famous come- dian of T. V. and radio, has his own television program. He is on channel 44, stations H. 4. N. K. A. D. O. ---R. I. E. T. V. I, Frank Teague, will all of my confederate money to Ray Poovey, and Max Cannon. I, Susanna Teague, will my cat to Lois Compton. I, Jeanette Turner, will my position as secretary of the Senior Class to Shirley L. Annas. I, Bobby Watson, will my position as head cheerleader to be fought over by Rachel Teague, Evelyn Reid, Gaye Marshall, Betty Ann Mackie, and hoping that Larry Estes gets it. I, Dorothy Yount, will my title Old Married Girl to Hazel Fairchild and Wanda Lail. I, Emma Jean Yount, will my ways to get a husband to Barbara Yount and Frances Cozart. CLASS PROPHECY Oh! Ten Years hence and what a vast change in the lives of the ' 52 graduates of Granite Falls High School ! Now we can see our fellow classmates as we see them in their present day position. Gene Abernethy is now running on a Republican ticket for Governor of North Carolina. Those two stars, Jerry Coffey and Dennis Kincaid are now playing professional ball with the Harlem Glob Trotters. Three good Democrats, Bed- ford Starnes, Wayne Hall, J. P. Bumgarner are the three most successful farmers in Caldwell County. Alice Ann Hayes, Jim Short ' s wife is busy raising a football team for him to coach. Bud Moore with his 275 pound body is now playing tackle with the Washington Redskins. Perkins Hall is now teaching Eng- lish at Wake Forest. Gary Coffey is now in partnership with the Mayo Brothers and is the leading physician of the group. Rachel Miller is employed by Macy ' s Department Store in New York City. I ' ll bet she loses her job though because she loves her beauty sleep. Randle Poe is now head of the North Carolina Wild- life Resource Commission. Fred Nelson is now a happily married man and has his own Dixie Home Store in Rhodhiss. Morris Henson is now President of Pacific Mills. Max Frye has just come back from Hollywood where he has been painting pictures in Co-partnership with Mr. Walt Disney. Glenn Hentschel just won the Olympic Diving Championship for 1962 for the United States. Bob Wat- son is playing short stop for the New York Yankees and batted 450 in the World Series last year. Janette Hollar Marshall, is living in her two room apartment with her hus- band and four children, Buck Eye, Black Eye, Bat Eye and Black-Eyed Susan. Evelyn Miller is now a singer with the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. Pauline Shull hasn ' t given up yet; she is still single and still looking. Susanne Teague has joined the Lonely Hearts Club since she has become an ole maid. Jeanette Turner who was the brains of our class is now the only woman ambas- sador from the United States to France. Dot Yount is now operating a large food market off 25th Washboard Boulevard. She grows the vegetables she sells with her own lovely hands. (For romantic close-ups, she uses steel wool). 18
