CLASS HISTORY We, the Senior Class of Granite Falls High School, will graduate in May with the smallest enrollment ever to graduate. The enrollment of our class is thirty- nine . The four years we have spent here have been wonderful, although at the time we spent it we didn ' t think so. We can remember the late hours of study and then just barely making a passing grade on our exams. But there were times that we really enjoyed, such as seeing our teams win a hard-played football, basketball, baseball game. Then we remember when our band first performed at half-time. We were really proud to say we were enrolled at Granite Falls High School. When we entered G. F. H. S. in a body of eighty-five students, the officers for that year were: Jean Winkler, President; Iris Ann Gilbert, Vice President; and Gene Abernethy, Secretary-Treasurer. In our Sophomore year, we elected: Gene Abernethy, President; Odell Winkler, Vice President; and Jeanette Kirby, Sec- retary-Treasurer. In our Junior year our class had decreased to sixty members. We elected: Gene Abernethy, President; Jerry Coffey, Vice President; and Dolly Sue Benfield, Secretary-Treasurer. This was the year we had the responsibility of the Junior -Senior Banquet and The Junior Play. Both of these were successful and we still remember the good times we had preparing for them. Now in our final year at Dear Ol 1 G. F. H. S. , we realize we are about at the end of our school career. Again this year we elected: Gene Abernethy, President; Nell Fulbright, Vice President; and Jeanette Turner, Secretary-Treasurer. This year we will have our Senior Play and will also be the guest at the Junior - Senior Banquet. The most important thing that we are looking forward to now is graduation. We shall hate to leave the portal of Granite Falls High School, but we are now leaving it to you, Juniors. Let ' s see you make some History too. LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the Senior Class of Granite Falls High School, Granite Falls, North Carolina, in the year one thousand nine hundred and fifty-two, do hereby make this our LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT. ARTICLE: 1. To the faculty and principal we, the Seniors, leave our gratitude and appreciation for all they have done for us in adding to our Fading Memories of Granite Falls High School. ARTICLE: 2. To the Junior Class, we, hereby confer and bestow all our Senior rights and privileges, also our individual and priceless possessions, hoping that they use them wisely. I, Gene Abernethy, will my position as president of the Senior Class to be fought over by Tommy Watts and Paul Costner. I, Carrol Barker, will two feet of my height to J. D. Oxford and Homer Cline. I, J. P. Bumgarner, will my love for English to Kenneth Teague, Larry Bumgarner, and Bobby Brewer. 16
