Mr. Walmsley, the Principal of North High School, has had a varied background as Produc- tion Foreman at Olin-Matheson in East Alton, Illi- nois, and as a teacher at Roosevelt High School, St. Louis, in Industrial Arts. He has taught Indus- trial Arts and Driver ' s Education in Granite City, and he has served as a Guidance Counselor and Assistant Principal of Prather Junior High School. He became principal of North High in 1973. Mr. Walmsley prides himself upon an open door pol- icy with the student body and faculty of North. He believes that North High was created to serve the students and parents of the community and he strives to operate the school with that thought in mind. We wish his continued success in that en- deavor. 21

Terry Salem: B.S., Eastern Illinois Univer- sity, M.S., Southern Illinois University Mr. Salem is primarily responsible for the orientation and regis- tration of students. He supervises the collection of grade reports and is in charge of distribution of report cards. He is in charge of evaluation and supervision of counselors, the nurse, and special edu- cation classes. Mr. Salem develops and supervises such programs as graduation, Senior Recognition Day, and senior meetings. He is also in charge of the administration of the summer school program. Assistant Principals Mr. Buehler deals directly with students, handling at- tendance and disciplinary problems. He assists in mak- ing teacher observations and with student activities.
