Of ScLoL Mr. B. J. Davis is Superintendent of Community Unit District § 9 . He was born on March 23. 1931, in Springfield, Missouri. He received a B.S. in Education in 1952, and his Masters Degree in Education Administration at Missouri University. He served as a Social Studies teacher for two years at Chadwick Public Schools, then transferred to Salem, Missouri, where he taught Social Studies and Driver’s Education from 1955-1958. In 1960, he became a Junior High Principal in Granite City School District. Mr. Davis was appointed Assistant to the Superintendent in 1965, and in 1966. he became the Superintendent of Schools. ydssistant Superintendent Mr. Frank Kraus, was born in Granite City, and he graduated from Granite City High School South in 1948. He served in the Air Force from 1951-1953, then was appointed as a Faculty member and Coach at Lawrenceville, Illinois, and then in Granite City. He received his B.S. Degree in 1957. at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and his M.S. from Indiana State University. In 1967, he became the Assistant Superintendent of Community Unit District 9. 19

Cjifbert V. Walmiley, Principal Mr. Walmsley, the Principal of North High School, has had a varied background as Production Foreman at Olin-Matheson in East Alton, Illinois, as a teacher at Roosevelt High School, St. Louis, in Industrial Arts. He has taught Industrial Arts and Driver ' s Education in Granite City, and he has served as a Guidance Counselor and Assistant Principal of Prather Junior High School. He became principal of North High in 1973. Mr. Walmsley prides himself upon an open door” policy with the student body and faculty of North. He believes that North High was created to serve the students and parents of the community and he strives to operate the school with that thought in mind. We wish his continued success in that endeavor. 21
