Mr. Larry King feels that “students learn more than a trade. They learn to cooperate and work together con- genially. Building a new home on Clark Street has utilized many of the classes. Drafting classes formulated the blueprints, welding classes assisted with metal work, and the building trades classes erected the shell last year and finished the home this spring. One of the most popular courses in the Social Sciences department is P.I.E., Program of Individualized Education. In the program’s second year Mr. Barker feels that the course has taught “students how to use freedom and independence”. Students choose their own topic of study and the grade is based on an evaluation by student and teacher. One may visit a class to learn a dance, eat a bagel, or hear a guest. Future plans include expanding course offerings for freshmen and sophomores.
