Before teaching, Mr. Noeth, along with two other brothers, owned and operated a business. He then served in the armed forces during World War II, and later graduated valedictorian from Shurt- lett College. Mr. Noeth’s family consists of his wife, Helen; his son Larry who teaches at GCHS South; his daughter Carol who teaches at GCHS North, and another son Don, who is planning to become a teacher. Mr. Noeth donated much time to improving the science cur- riculum at the local parochial schools as well as the public schools. His influence will be felt for years to come in Granite City. 2!0 ' - ' H 5dHCDM Mga 02 . Mr. B.J. Davis, Superintendent of Schools Board of Education Mr. L. The chosen students, with the help of Miss Sharon Smegner, Student Council Advisor and Quiz Team Advisor, study college entrance exams in preparation for their competition on KMOX-TV. Each student on the Scholar Quiz Team specialized in certain subjects such as literature, social science, history, math and science. Yearbook Staff The main function of the Yearbook Staff is to as- semble the Warrior Yearbook. The hard work and de- termination of the staff is illustrated in the final prod- uct of the yearbook. Throughout the year, sleepless hours of work, and the agony of deadlines have tor- mented the staff. However, in the final analysis they are rewarded by tb? success of the yearbook. The edi- tor in chief, Dianne Ripper and the sponsor, Mrs. Cynthia Hormell have worked vivaciously side by side to produce the 1974 Warrior Yearbook. Yearbook keeps Cindy on the move. 266 Yearbook Editors ORGANIZATIONS AC- TIVITIES mary lattimore SPORTS EDITOR frank stroehmer FACULTY ADMIN!
