Masque and Gavel is the speech honor society. Members privileged to be a part of this organization are pledged to promote and uphold the principles of good speech. They participate in the homecoming play under the able guidance and supervision of Miss Mary Blackburn and Miss Kickum. A student enrolled in journalism may be eligible if he has a B. average, 75 inches of printed copy and has junior standing. In recent years, there has been only one in- itiation. Due to the increase in the numbers of those whb take journalism and yearbook, there were two initiations this year, one in the spring and one in the fall. The fall officers were: President.
