111 Y t if SEATED: Mr. Alkema, Presidemg Mr. Vander Molen, Treasurer. STANDING LEFT TO RIGHT: Mr. Taylor, Supt. g Mr. Vander Wiere, Secretaryg Mr. Becker, Trusteeg Mr. Bulliment, Trustee. SCHIHH BIIARII During the past year, the School Board, under the capable leadership of Mr. Henry Alkema, has accomplished a great number of tasks. The members have spent long hours discussing plans that would help to better our school. Since the completion of East Elementary School, the crowded conditions of the elementary classrooms have eased considerably. In the future, the Board is planning to build additional elementary schools and also an addition to the high school. The play grounds at both schools were black-topped and furnished with new playground equipment last fall. Another project of the Board was the new base- ball diamond at Wedgewood Field. The members of the School Board have developed a favorable cooperative training program enabling students to attend school mornings and work afternoons. Also, as part of their program, the remedial speech program has been expanded. 3
