This was followed by taking third place in the 'Grand- view lnvitational Tournament. Shortly thereafter, the squad was hurt by the absence of one of our starters, Keith Thompson, who remained out for most of the rest of the seas on with an injured foot. After the Lee's Summit game at the first of the season the Bulldogs went on a twelve game winning streak. This was stopped short by a strong squad from St. Joseph Christian Brothers at the Blue Springs Invitational Tourney. All in all, in invitational tourney play we had a 4-2 record. Probably the most interesting game of the season, at least by the score, was when we played the Pleasant Hill Roos- ters . The score was 103-87 in the favor of the Bulldogs . This was one of the first games in our conference to have the score go over 100 . It also set a scoring record for the Pleasant Hill auditorium . This triumph was followed by two hard fought battles that were lost by narrow margins . The first was to Lee's Summit. In the final minutes of this game Grandview had nar- vi rowed the margin to one point, 70-69, but the Tigers were able to draw fouls and went on to win 74-69 . The second one was lost to Blue Springs . It was en- titled the loop upset of the year . It was a thriller that went into one over- time ,only to have the Blue Springs team win 75470 .
