As you know-this was the year'we had to prepare for our Junior-Senior Banquet. Alasl The funds were very low, but we were not dis- mayed, Each day in Mr. N9lson's American History class we didicated4a.few moments to class meetings in order to formulate plans to make some money. And we settled on scrap and paper drives. Ah! Those paper drives. They bring back such mem? ories. There are times recalled when certain parties couldn't find certain gears, but did that daunt us? No! The paper drives must go on! And so we ground up hills and down in our searches for that precious stuff-paper. Soon our'treasury began to accumulate before we knew it-we'd made about 3300. However, we did have a little trouble collecting the money for our scrap iron. But this was un- told'wealth for us! Now we'began to feel we were on easy street. What with our dues, ball-game concessions, and, of course, our playhdwe knew we would not fail. Then the date was set for April 20. Naturally fried chicken was to be our main course, for what would a banquet be without fried chicken? A great success. But before this we had our Junior Play. Play of all plays. .The play books were being passed around and we were all reading like fury to find. a play that would suit us all. There was talk of an all-girl cast. This, we thought, would deviate from the common run of class plays and, perhaps lend more interest to it, Thus, we presented our play with Miss Roller as our competent director, L The time was growing short then--and we knew our year was about to end, but before it did-we knew we mustihave one last fling. The all school picnic and a jolly good time was had by all. V a Ah! Sadly now we bid you adieu, but we shall always remember this year of years. we Sophisticated Juniors, sri N-.. 2. -x 1 Q ' I, W f I A f. may X J Q a s ?Q4f43 N 4, 1 if ff 1 'n .
