This nas been an Q F Qin unusual class and despite their numerous ups and X 'F' downs they have managed to wosther the storms to- V rather. O g ' Let's review the history of this group: In Sopn G tember 1940, they enrolled as freshmen with s - class of 29 What Q sweet bunch oi youngsters, so Q shy and innocent. That your they did such cute little things as putting thumb tucks in each othn i G4 or's seats, and srocting paper wads with rubber x bands. The seniors wore amused with their antics Q: and decided that since they were so unspoiled and X unsuspecting they wouldnft humiliate them by ini- l G' tiating tho group. Miss Eborsolc sponsored the y 6 class that year. The junior year. The play cast and Miss Wheeler, class sponsor, toiled and fretted over nGood Gracious Grandma,' the junior play--the re- ceipts from which furnished funds for a uslap- happyn circus Junior-Senior banquet with a dance following. Joe'Hontavon presided over the clung and was the ringmaster at 'the circus banquet. Never to be outdone, the class instituted a new ceremony at the commencement exercises when they made an aisle of lighted candles through which the graduates passed. ' ' Bob Overbey compaigned his way to the presiden- cy in the senior year and Joe Montavon became Stu- dent Council president. Several of the class 're- cieved letters which began: uGreetings.n Laurence Ray went to the Air Corps, and Joe Montavon to the Navy. Philip Cochran and Marvin White enlisted in the Army Air Corps Reserve while Frank' Shortino chose the Naval Air Corps Reserve. ' The year book, supervised by Miss Wheeler-- class sponsor, and the Senior play nTekc It Easyn direct d by Hrs. Lashbrook were interesting class projects. This year they were entertained with a banquet instead of entertaining as they did last yflflri And so, our gallant little bend is looking for new worlds to conquer. Faults they have, but vir- tues, too. Let's give a few orchids to the graduates Cdon't throw that tomstol.
