Forty-two freshmen met and eyed each other curiously, yet shyly. Not one of them could I guess what a big part he would play in the history H of Grandview High School. i Soon they became accustomed to the rules of the ,M school. In May a terrible misfortune befell them. If They would become full-fledged sophomores the next lg year. During that year Hugh Young did an excellent ' job serving as class president. Mr. Taylor was fi the class sponsor. D ' aj Due to an ancient school custom, this class be- , came juniors their thind year. This was the most l dreaded year in their high school education. The ji assignments and examinations were much longer. All A had become well acquainted, and there was a feeling If of genuine friendship throughout the school. This ,, year the class gave WSound Your Hornn for their i class play. Roy Kilby was chosen as class pres. Miss Suddath was chosen as class sponsor. At last came the fourth and biggest year of all. ' Juniors had earned the distinguished title of sen- X iors because they had become more serious than .s they ever had been in their lives. Wayne Travis lj was elected class president, Roy Kilby, vice pres. -9 and June Skeens, secretary and treasure. Miss Shackelford was chosen as class sponsor. D During this year the seniors did many things, one of the most important was the election of Hugh 'Q Young as president of the Student Council. Then the Senior play entitled, NHucKleberry Finn.W 'Q In a few weeks, thirty-one young people will A, leave school to go into the world to use the know- y ledge acquired during their four years in high ,af 'egg school. In this time of need many in our class - '013, will enter into the service of our country. We Ns x sincerely hope that during the remainder of their lives they will receive world fame and look back on the good times spent in Grandview High School. n , , WY c , 'TZf 'W 1'c f W M'-' ,,r-'-W-fr' ,rrf:l,::X :f,-7 fa,irt'e' 5'-'iff 132'-'z,g, ki V Ag!wr'y J , ..,,....,,.,.,,-.,....... ,,........w,. -.., TGQFEW..- .Qf -,:........-v.-,...m6F,,V,Wwwwwmm-W-M Q I Q B , . Juanita has agreed to leave the typewriter she has became so attached toJoTheresa Theise, as Bergen can't type anyhow. Wayne Travis wills his droop, draft card, and his ability to stay out all night to Bob Wilson. Gene Solsberg wills the hot air that keeps him up on tall tails to Lardy, who is already well inflated. Dixie, a gal with lots of experience in the art of gum popPing,wil1s her talents to Ruby Lane. Pete Rollins leaves his connections with the WFront Cfficen to Bob Overbey. Annabel wills her executive ability to Lorita Crutcher. Luck to her. Betty Huber is giving her blushcs and squeals to Mary Corterville so she can become a dignified young lady. Dale Bricker leaves his love 'em and leave'em technique to one already well accomplished in the art, Philip Cochran. June Skeens leaves her peaches and .cream complexion to Bobby Hill.
