Points Can Be the Name ofthe Game Moving to a new district, the idians found that they had to lay against new teams. Old vals, Brownsboro, Van, and aufman, were replaced by emp, Quinlan and Rains. The team's 2-8 season record idn't tell the whole story since nly a few more points on the coreboard would have turned ie record around. The Indians ist by one point to Edgewood, by vo points each to Canton and Temp and only a touchdown to fills Point. Offensively, the team was not lways consistent, in some ames rushing well and in some ames passing well. Defensively, we were good as hyone else, stated Head Coach Carter Elliott. During many of the ames the defense had to stay on ie field too long. This gave the pponent a good chance to run tore plays at the lndians defense pan usual. Good for 18 yards, Chet Walters catches a pass in the fight against Rains. The Indi- ans lost 6-28T . -.xr'aww-:rs5-gs, -'f - ' Tm.rmsmy-'ire-ri5.'I.z.. - .-ifivgw Q - : ,-,f 17 ,f ,swyrf-frees,Tgg,-i: 'fr1-cw1f3,,fsT5fTris-f:zT,rTT,fi,,,, -1 is ' 1' :iT 5iig1ef'f4f'ri?ifzEr'5f'E452i,f3,gfj gy ,z'zifit9tri??ba:X'iiP5?'1s3,iis?xihzii-ir1'fE,,g-t fs .V ,,,..,,.. .. .. ,.f.i ,,,,,,,,, ,i ,, l - -W ,,2f,,H3i ili A if is iliosl 1 olis A lisi liliii lltlil E , .13 T lllitt T A illl'i iiiii A T .toi 2 ssiili T L ilit sirr in ffWlli5STPoint l iff 2 s Tr ilslis oiiiltrtiiii llsfotl J T ti, I A it T i OT A . 66 JV Football Combining freshmen and soph- omores to make one team was necessary this year because there were not enough players for two teams. With a high percentage of freshmen, the team was smaller and less experienced than their opponents. The talent was there and the boys played well at times, but mistakes hurt them in every game, commented Coach Put- man. The JV started well by beating Edgewood 6-O, but after that first game, they went down hill the rest of the season, tying one and los- ing eight. Randy Lovett and Daniel Martin were moved to the varsity in the middle of the season because ot injuries on the varsity team. Lack of experience, concen- tration, too many injuries and lack of quickness hurt us at times, stated Coach Rodgers. JV coaches are Terry Putman and Edd Rodgers.
