Future Farmers began the year with the operation of a conces- sion stand at football games. Another money-making project was their annual citrus fruit and apple sale. Top seller was James Rodgers who sold seventy-six boxes of oranges and apples. The show team had a busy year with stock shows. They partici- pated in about twenty shows ranging from the Grand Saline Salt Festival Livestock Show to the National Santa Gertrudis Jun- The mating habits of a pig is not Mr. Risner's favorite subject to lecture on. 42 'lwe ior Heifer Show at Ft. Worth. Mr. Ftisner's Ftadio Team com- peted in the District and Area Leadership Contests. Placing first in District and third in Area were Shelley McCallum, Terry Weaver, and Cyd Shuemake. Duane Carpenter, Charles Beasley, Don Maxfield, and Denina Kelsey participated in the Tri-County Simmental Associa- tion Field Day judging contest in which they placed second. The object was to place four calves in descending order of superiority. Five different classes were judged. Their winning efforts won them 3100. :FQ :..Ft as- gf if of sa 1 Honored by his students, Charles Beasley, Duane Carpenter, and Denina Kelsey, FFA adviser, Jackie Risner, is awarded the Chapter Farmer degree at the annual FFA Banquet. The club met once a month, fourth period in Mrs. Yates' room. The club's main project was the maintenance of the business department. Their motto was A person who stands for nothing is nothing.
