Important social events in the nized cheerleaders, majorettes, spring were the All-Sports Ban- quet and the Junior-Senior Ban- quet. Theme of the All-Sports Ban- quet, Indians on Parade, was car- ried out in Walt Disney characters on wall and head-table decora- tions. Speaker, Scott Laidlaw, made a short speech and answered questionsfromthe audience. Coaches of the various sports introduced their teams, and Mr. Gerald Gilbert, principal, recog- Q sd 26 Junior-Senior Banquet and the band. William Vess received a gift from varsity cheerleaders for his greatjob as mascot. Varsity football players hon- ored Coach Elliott with a gift in recognition of his influence and leadership. Precious Reflections was the theme of the Junior-Senior Ban- quet in the school cafeteria May 12. Reading the senior Will and Testament were Jo Haptonstall and Charles Beasley. Libby King and Adam Richey read the Proph ecy. Junior president, Kerri Will ingham, gave the welcome, anc William Vess, senior president gave the response. The prom, sponsored by par- ents, was held at the Red Barn ir Tyler. All decked out, Charles Beasley and Kerr Willingham pose for a formal picture before the Junior'Senior Banquet.

Some Work, Others Play, Mciny Do Both Students didn't sit around twid- dling their thumbs. They spent the majority of their time going to club meetings, keeping up with their school work, and being with their family and friends. But, busy as they were, kids still found time for jobs and unusual hobbies. Jobs ran the gamut from Deana Bates' work as a gas station fix' SX Carp fishing with a bow and arrow in muddy back waters is where James Rodg- ers goes in his free time. His brother-in- law, Ronny Clower, and Mark Harris sometimes accompany him. attendant and Scott Jones' posi- tion as assistant to a veterinarian to David Simpson's job as a helper to a roofing contractor. Several students held HECE jobs while others worked after school and on Saturdays. Scuba diving was a big thing with Terry Weaver, Steve Ray, and Randal Looney, who went with others to Lake Murray in Okla. Building a log cabin proved to be an interesting hobby for Rich- ard Bell and Victor Conley. On Richard's father's land, they began construction in January and worked the rest of the year to finish it. Working at the Sun office is of great importance to Randal Looney. He works there after school doing jobs such as cleaning the presses, typing papers, and running errands for his boss. Jobs, Hobbies 25
