Black and orange in the halls as the main motif Friday as stu- ents showed their school spirit ith their selection of clothes. As school let out early for omecoming festivities, hot eather didn't stop students from ishing downtown to see the nnual parade and pep rally. ,eading the Homecoming parade through own is That Indian Band. Several floats were decorated for the parade by various school groups and townspeople. First place winner was a float deco- rated by the senior class. Cheerleaders from junior high and high school united in per- forming cheers at the downtown pep rally. Majorettes twirled to Stayin' Alive. Pep talks were made by Murry Means and Coach Elliott. Spirit sticks were given to ,X high school students, Lisa Fletcher and Claude Lane. The Indians lost the Homecom- ing game 35-0 to old-time rivals, the Van Vandals. At half-time, Julie Faulk, elected by the student body, was crowned Homecoming Queen by last year's Queen, Tricia Gray, presented roses by mascot, Wil- liam Vessg and kissed by her escort, Dale Duke. Spirit is the key factor in the pep talk given by Murry Means just before he leads the crowd in Two-Bits. Homecoming 15
