1- A Bare or bear? People have l been asking that. question along l ith when and how did the Bare! ear Grounds become the favor- te hang-out for kids? An investigation turned up the following story. Way back in 65- B7 there was a GSHS student named Wayne Clark, who had very broad shoulders and was very muscular. Because of his size, his friends named him l'Bear. H Bear came to town from i l i NX Sandflat but didn't go any farther than the area that is now the hang-out. His friends would go down there to see him to talk about cars. After some time, a lot of boys and girls started hanging- out. The kids began to call this area Bear Grounds because Bear started hanging-out there first. Now this area is the most popu- lar part of town on Friday and Sat- urday nights and Sunday after- noons. Lots and lots of kids go down to the Bear Grounds to sit and talk to their friends and have a good time. f Across the street from the Bear Grounds is quick refreshment for the busy crowd of kids.
