...L f-wane-W fs Left to right: Mr. Clarence De Vries, Mr. Dick Van Dam, Dr, Peter B, Northouse, Mr, Cornelius Ibershof assistant secretary-treasurer, Mr. John Hofstra, secretary, Mr. Henry Van Timmeren, president, Mr Sidney De Young, vice-president, Mr. Charles Schrader, treasurer, Mr. Joe Orlebeke, Mr. Jock De Vries The School Board To the Graduates: You have been students at the Grand Rapids Christian High School for the past three years. During this time there has been an ever-changing student body. The teaching staff has had its additions and departures. The membership of the Board has changed annually. Only three of the Board served during all the years you were at school. Expansion plans point to new building facilities. Healthy growth means change. But at the Grand Rapids Christian High School there is something that is not to change. The class of l960 has contributed something to the history of an enterprise that has existed since l92O. lt was then that this school was established. lt was an act of obedience and faith that founded the school of which you are a graduate. It has been maintained by Christian fathers and mothers and by others who, by the grace of God, walked by faith, not by sight. They obeyed because they believed that it pleases God to build His Kingdom through covenant children and young people. ln God's providence, the present Board and the Class of i960 might partici- pate in carrying out that pattern of Christian education derived from the infallible Word of God. Your student relationship to the school is over. The members of the Board ioin in congratulating you on reaching this milestone in your lives. You go onward to new paths. lt is our earnest hope that the influence of the teaching at Christian High will have its intended effect. May it have enlarged your vision on the fields of activity open to you. May it have equipped you with knowledge, skills, and an understanding of your place as a citizen in a democracy. Above all it is our prayer that whatever your gifts and capabilities, you are ready, more than ever before, to commit your ways to the Lord Jesus Christ, serving Him always and everywhere. John Hofstra, Secretary
