The time has come that some of us must leave. Our three years at Christian have flown as an even ng of interesting conversation does. We are sorry we must leave, for we still have a warm spot in our hearts for Christian High. Yet, we are eager to go into the world and serve God, whom we feel we are better able to serve since we have had a Christian education We are deeply grateful to God for placing in the hearts of many, a spirit of sacrifice which has made this Christian High possibl-e. We are grateful for its founders who boldly faced the difficulties of starting a Christian High School, but who with foresight saw the possibility of its success, for the large staff which has served through the years so that young people might profit from a God-centered education, for the unselfish- efforts of the various boards who have given their time and talent to further the cause of Christian Highg for our Ladies Circle, who gave their labor of love, for our class sponsors, Miss Newcomb and Mr. De Vroome for their special guidance through Christian High to us, the class of January 52 and for the many others wh.o have in any way contributed to our education and advancement. Now to my fellow students: the road ahead appears dark and unsettled, but God has given to us, as to the children of Israel, a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night to guide us in the way designated in our class text: Deut. 31 6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, not be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee, he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee Some of our young men will be called to the colors. To them God has given a special guide in Psalm 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Besides these guides, God has given many others fulfilling each ones 1nd1v1 dual needs. In these clouds by day and pillars by night, we find our hope for whatever lies beyond january, 1952, confident that the Lord our God doth go with us, he will not fail us, nor forsake usf' Paul De Vries, Pres. - Class of Ian., 1952 22
