Text from Pages 1 - 80 of the 1977 volume:

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. Henry David Thoreau Keep the moments as best you can Remember the facts, the fun, the tears Keep a warm ember alive in your heart To fan alive in future years Care now, for your caring will remain for eternity. ' A , v 1 The light died in the low clouds. Falling snow drank in the dusk. Shrouded in silence, the branches wrapped me in their peace. When the boundaries were erased, once again the wonder: that 1 exist. Dag Hammarskjold Must we always teach our children with books? Let them look at the mountains and the stars up above. Let them look at the beauty of the waters and the trees and flowers on earth. They will then begin to think, and to think is the beginning of a real education. David Polis Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach diem, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.
