Monday they began faithfully attending to the duties to which they were assigned for the week, such as carry- ing the seniors' books, lunch trays, and doing a variety of mean things which the seniors asked as special favors Friday, being the big and final day, brought many surprises Diane Pease appeared as the Farmer in the Dell, clad in her father's overalls and underwear Elaine Reinking might well have been named the nPop corn Kidn because of the corn she carried and her theme song, HTOO Pooped to Pop Sharon Spencer looked like she had ju t got back from her vacation She was wearing long winter underwear and a heavy overcoat as a memory of her stop in Alaska, and her face was blacked, and her hair was done in the latest African peak hair style from her stnp in Africa dith her hair as a perfect example, she advertised Pamper Shampoo Philip Youngdahl had been to the beach and was in such a hurry to get back for initiation that he didn t have time to change out of his woman s bathing uit, and he still had 20 hair ribbons in his hair and was wearing a charming pair of sunglasses CThat's what Lola wanted Eldon Meissner looked very much like he had just robbed an Egyptian pyramid He was wrapped like a mummy from his neck to his knees Since he was old, he had poor eyesight and couldn't find his glasses, which he was wear ing on the back of his head On his way to initiation he stepped in a mudhole, and his legs were black up to his knees CTh1s made his ankle bracelets show up D He was often found advertising Heileman's Old Style Lager at the threat of a paddling Ronald Johnson had been busy helping his father and came wearing a horse collar, gunny sack skirt, and carry ing a scythe handle He was usually vocalizing to the Larry Klingensmith was making the rounds as a rather mixed up Omar man He was wearing a dress which looked suspiciously like it had been stuffed with several pillows he was also up on the latest horse styles with a fly harness He was seen carrying a loaf of that delicious Omar bread We robbed the cradle to get the last freshman Bobby Brownlee was seen earing diapers which were a little the worse for wear and had been patched several times Cand with several colorsl He refused to leave his rattle, diaper bag, and babie ' pot at hox SUQ so he carried them all day Instead of cooing li e ormal babies he was heard inging a catch! little tune which advertised Hamm's from the Land of Skv Blue Haters The seniors engoyed this week immensely, and we hope that the freshmen did, too . After about a half hour drive we came to the conclusion that someone had moved the airpor It seems that we took the long way around, but we finally reached our des tination After a little persuasion, nearly all the Seniors took airplane rides We were even a little sorry to put our feet on the ground again It had been an exciting ride, but now, of course, were hungry Ne made it back to down town Omaha without much trouble and scattered out to eat dinner At 2 30 we were to meet at the World Herald Building for a tour through the place where newspapers are printed Most of us arrived on tlmq but there was a short delay while we waited for some girls who just had to do some shopping when we were finally all together again, the tour began I think that we will allagree that this tour was a very inter esting one. At 3:o'clock we again went our separate ways with an agreement to meet at 6 o'clock. During this t1me,some of us shopped while others went to, shall we say, shows. At 6 o'clock we again piled into the cars and drove out to the amusement park. By this time, the weather had cooled down a little and, in spite of our arguments, the management decided not to open the park. We all went to a show, soon- er or later. It was about M o'clock when most of us finally got to bed. It was a day that we will remember for a long time.
