The record, however, does not indicate the caliber of the team which met theghest competition in the area, giving them battle right down to the final gun. The two victories came at the expense of the Lansing Sexton Reserves and Eaton Rapids. Against the Lansing boys, Pylman, Summers and Simmons were outstanding on defense and Rogers on the offense. Against Eaton Rapids, a run by Rogers, a pass Harley to Kleinfelt, and an end sweep by Harley gave the Comets the victory. The strong St. Johns Eleven was played to a standstill during the first half hut serious injuries on four plays and twenty-six fast points in the third quarter gave the Comets their first defeat of the year. STANDING: Ron Warren, Don Brunette, Kenneth Rogers, Larry Abell, Glen Smith, Mr. Benge-Coach. With evervone of the regular reserves from last year's team moving up to the varsity, Coach Benge assembled an entirely green team. Although they only won two games, they have several boys showing enough promise to make good varsitv material next year. Several games were close affairs with the boys playing their hearts out but others showed examples of inexperience and lack of confidence. Inexperienced play- ers were used freouently this year to give them valuahle training for next year's reserve team.
