Along came Seniors show a third in float competition. Along came the Juniors with a first place victory. Sophomores came through with a second place. Homecoming activities for 1978 were held on Oct. 28. The weeks activities were kicked off on Monday with dress-up day and the assembly at which the Royalty was announced. Tuesday was decreed as Lick 'em-Stomp 'em Day and students wore boots and the Student Council sold suckers. Wednesday was Make a Tiger Day with a contest for the most originally constructed tiger. Thursday was Jersey Day” and Friday was Orange and Black Day.” The parade was Friday at 3:10 p.m. on Main Street with eight bands and many floats. The game against Moffat County was Saturday at 1:30 and the dance was held in the gym from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Music was provided by New Concepts. Tigers clew through the victory banner to begin the 1978 Homecoming game. 14 School Life

Homecoming royalty named The 1978 Homecoming royalty was selected October 15th by the Grand Junction High student body. Candidates for queen and attendants were: Seniors, Shawn Armstrong, Cheryl Bonella, Shawna Callahan, Donna Fa-brizio, Lisa Gonzales, Sophie Herrera and Leslie Jacoby; Junior nominees were, Joan Bridgett, Alice Munro, Becca Nelson, Shara Pearce and Wendy Wagner; Sophomores, Christy Eicher, Kelly Grasso, Lori Sanchez, An-ette Perry, Diane Smith, and Ronda Parker. The reigning queen and her court was queen Donna Fabrizio escorted by Matt Hall, Senior Attendant Shawna Callahan escorted by Chris Otto, Junior attendant Alice Munro escorted by Paul Chatfield, and Sophomore Kelly Grasso escorted by Rod Cesario.
