A. and M.A. degrees from Colorado Sfafe College of Educafion, Mr. James has served as superinfendenf of Collbran schools and as area youfh officer for fhe NYA. ln i942 Mr. James faughf science in G. J. l-l. S. and in I943 became assisfanf principal. . . CIQZ A well-grounded philosophy, a wholesome love of fhe oufdoors, and an inferesf in sfudenfs- 'rhese are some of R. E. Tope's likable characfer- isfics. Mr. Tope was superinfendenf of Grand Juncfion schools for 26 years and has been superinfendenf emerifus since I937. Since Pearl Harbor, Mr. Tope has been 'rhe Mesa Counfy chairman for promofing 'rhe sale of war bonds. Frequenfl he runs a column in The Daily Senfinel in which he commenfs on currenf evenfs and includes bifs of his philosophy. 7,1 ,W-f A M Q 5, K 3 fly oy Efficienf, energefic, and brimful of ideas for im- proving fhe school, S. Clay Coy assumed fhe principalship lasf fall. Wifh a B. A. from Peru Sfafe Teachers' college and an M.A. from fhe Universify of Nebraska, Mr. Coy has had ex- perience in adminisfrafive work before coming 'ro G. J. H. S. He is Colorado direcfor of fhe American council of science feachers and presi- denf of The Colorado Junior Schoolmasfers' club. Through his individual counseling of seniors and ofhers, Mr. Coy has already become personally acquainfed wifh a large number of sfudenfs.
