Agges.rnQamc5p A SHORT HISTORY of the r1als and Troubles of the Class of 25 Durmg Thelr Hlgh School Careers In the fall of 1921 the dignified Seniors vow' now be hold were only a bunch of ordlnary green Freshmen It hardly seems possible but history says lt is a fact We were a bunch of long lean gawky youngsters who had not even learned that blufflng or guessing were pos sible We labored through the awful mysteries of Latin and Algebra, and thought it was a great honor to be allowed to go to assembly, the only fly in the ointment being the fact that the upper-classmen insisted on sing- ing that touching little ditty, How Green They Are, which we thought was entirely out of place. We elect- ed Morris Hoisington as our president, and came through the year without serious accidents. At the end of the year we received our four hard-earned credits with a sigh of relief, and celebrated with a picnic at Kannah Creek. VVe came back the next year a little more dignified, The girls were beginning either to do their hair up or bob it. and the boys began trying to train theirs into pompadours. We had learned that teachers were really human and that a guess might accidentally be right Kenneth Shanks was our president that year and we had another picnic at Kannah Creek on Decoration day w1th no serious accidents resulting 'lhe next year when we were Juniors we enJoyed ourselves thoroughly through the whole year Hubert Gallagher as our president was a great success We had some fierce class fights wlth the Seniors but on the whole we were good humored tl1e Senlor Junior and Junior Senlor parties both being completely suc cessful VVhen we came back again we were high and mighty Seniors lords of all we surveyed and absolutely afraid of nothing Tom Brownson as our president has ably guided us through the busiest year in our High School course The class play The ReJuvenat1on of Aunt Mary was a complete success and also the parties which we exchanged with the Juniors Although the last year was the busiest one we enJoyed it thoroughly Some of our members have gone to other schools some have quit school some have been marrled and some have come to us from other schools but lt IS the same old class still and we hope that future classes may have four years in G J H S as pleasant and prof itable as the past four have been for us the Class of THE LAST ILL and Testament of the Class of 25 SIIOHCG all ye unsophlstlcated bralnless lnfants all ye tag ends of a misspent life Through our large sense of philanthropy we of the Olymplan heights the Apollo llke members of the Class of 25 are about to make a most generous gift of all things which we do not feel we will need agaln Take heed and listen We the members of the Class of 25 realizing that We are about to pass forever from this temple of learn lng do hereby give and bequeath our effects and be longings as shall be enumerated herewith Article 1 We do hereby give and bequeath to Mr Hirons our greatest respect our sincerest atfection and our everlasting memory Article 2 lVe do give and bequeath to the faculty to be used at their discretion all the astounding lnfor mation we have supplied them through our examination papers during our High School careers Article 3 To the Class of 26 we do Jovfullv leave our English books whlch we have carefully preserved for them during the year As supplementary reading you will find Chaucer vert interesting but let us give you some advice from our greit store 'Nliss Ela will tell you it is English 'ind she should know but l though we respect her Judgment we believe she obtained her information from an unreliable source Article 4 We do give to the school four new cups to be added to lts rapldly grow ing collection 'Slay fu ture classes gaze upon our hancliwoik and realize that truly this class was the noblest the most magnificent group of students that ever passed through the portals G J H Article 5 We should like very much to leave to the lower classes Cecil Cannell to advise them on their heart affairs but since he refuses to be left the only way remaining is to learn by bitter experience In short we leave them everything the building the equipment and the faculty although some what worn much as we found it except that it will seem brighter and better for hating been ln our glorious presence for four years Our great and good name Article 6 and hold it up to the world that it may marvel and say Behold that was a class that might well have inspired Homer SFCTIONI II 1 Hubert Callagher does give and bequeath the reins of gox ernment of the school with all the dignity and re spect due the holder of said reins to Nlelba Smith Holseman Blow nson leaves his derby hat to Bob Hill since that is all Tommy can find that he doesn t want very bad and if it doesnt fit Bob he wants lt back 3 Pauline Martin bequetths hen old maid costume of Slouch day to Anna Mae Campbell Pauline doesn t w int it an more because she has about decided to ac cept one of our lllSIlIlL,lll'all9ll alumni 4 Fail Dorsey wishes to leawe some of his legs to Shorts Brunner sawing that he cant get trousers long enough any more 5 Bernald Kunkle leslgns his positlon as head of the SOLlE1l1St element in favor of Harold Lew IS I 11, 0 3 41 - i X . .
