Junior and senior girls composed the Yfleens. The sponsors were Miss La Vona Smith and Mrs. Ella Mae Short. Meetings were held every other Wednesday after school. The lcinds ot programs held atter the busi- ness meeting varied. Among the programs were a panel discussion, a covered dish supper, picture slides, lessons on interior decoration and gift wrap- ping. The Yfleens also made tavors tor the trays ot the local hospitals to help bring cheer to the patients on the ditterent holidays. Throughout the year Yfleens sponsored hour dances. Among these was the Leap Year dance to which the girls brought their dates and competed in making comic corsages. To highlight a successtul year the Yfleens held their annual Spring Formal Dance in May. At the dance rho Y-Teens otticers tor the coming year were announced. Cookie sales, candy sales, a bake sale and selling shakers were the projects tor raising the money used to tinance the dances and the banquet. XYfaltz ot the Reetsn was the theme ot the an- nual Spring Dance tor the Jets and their dates. The gym was decorated to look like the tloor ot the ocean with coral reets, startish and mermaids. Marlene Ouandt was elected to serve as recorder ot the club tor both semesters. Two representatives were chosen each six weeks to assist the officers in planning meetings and projects.
