Vlerchant League By BOB IlORS'l'MAN '46 lVlassey and Fuzzy Martin, the Wotzits: and Ted Schroeder and Paul Frauen, the Loafers. During the first five games, the Hoopers and Solers led the League. Then the Aristocrats humped oft the high-riding Solers, leaving the Hoopers in undisputed first place. They lcept this position until the last game when the Solers won 22919 over the leaders. This lelt the Fleas as champs of the season play. ln the tournament, the Hoopers went straight through and earned a chance to play the Fleas to determine the Merchant League Championship title. ln the final game of the season, the Fleas were on the long end of a 17-15 score. According to many spectators. this game was hetter than a good many high school games. THE FLEAS, winners in the intra-mural basketball league which plays during the wintvr season: Top row are Dick Balinian, Lavvrn Kalkowski, Errol Shoe-I, Bob Hoppeg front, Bill Seymour, Keith Waddingzton.
