rf brave and did our utmost to bear the slams and kicks which were in store for us and had a smile and a kind word for each tormentor. NVe were so taken up with our studies the first year that we did not have much time for social activities. lt was difficult to recognize ourselves underthe name of Sophomores and to realize that our first year of High School was over. But we started out right by appointing a committee to look after the class pin. We had some difficulty in deciding, but linally did come to a decision. Although some of the other classes do not like our pin, we think we have the most unique pin in 'lligh School. During the winter and early spring of this year we had a number of social events which will be remembered by all. When we reached our Junior year we felt that our days of frivolous play were over, and we be- gan to think more about the big things of the world and wondered if we, too, could not accomplish something worthy of niention. All during this term we studied so as to set a good example to the Sophomores, who would soon take our places. This year, a whole, proved a success, and we had a number of social events which will never be forgotten. And now those self-same Juniors the 4'Seniors of '17, This year is truly Senior. 'We are young and impetuous. Vtle do not mean to claim credit for everything, but it is evident that the Senior l'lass is this year the superior class. During the past week or two the Seniors have been busy ex- changing pictures with all their classmates, whom they will soon have to leave. lVe have ont had many festivities during this year-the only one of great importance was a dance, given at the Lied- erkranz, which was greatly enjoyed by all. As we look back over the past four years in the Grand Island lligh School and recall many pleas- ant memories, a tinge of sadness comes over us, as we realize that it will soon be a thing of the past. Let us now face the world with the same spirit th at has carried us through four successful years at Grand Island High School. M. M., '17, SIXTEEN
