The organization is something that very many colleges do not have. It is composed of a bunch of men who want to go into basket ball more for the sport there is in it than anything else. The team is an important one in the Grand Island City League. Last year they made a good showing, but this year they made a better one. By trimming their nearest competitors 35 to 18, the Preps won an undisputed championship this year. Out of twelve games played only two were lost, and these were lost to a somewhat inferior team by very small scores. In the middle of the season a somewhat hard blow was dealt when the officf als declared ineligible one of our men because he had been playing with the first team. However, after this, with new men they still continued to win games. The good work of this team can be laid to the superior coaching they got under Coach Morrow. Whenever the teams had a game with the Preps they always buckled up, for they knew they had something to run up against. A word should be said about each one of the men. Lewis Edwards, Captain. Guard. This is Shorty's second year on the team and as captain he lead it to success. Shorty always manages to get a certain number of goals each game, generally from the center of the floor. Emmett Holtz. Forward. Holtz has gotten more goals than any other man in the league. He always played a good game, and usually made goals at the critical period. Frank Weiland. Forward. Frank is a forward that scraps all the time, and is good for a goal whenever he gets a shot. Frank helped us win more than one game, and especially the last one. Frank Button. Guard. Doc has played through the season. He is a persistent player, and is always in the way of the ball when the other team trys to get a goal. He is fast and handles the ball well. Louis Goldenstein. Center. Louie was a fast, rough player that they were all afraid of. He could be depended on to cover any open spot of the floor and could shoot goals with regularity. Stanley Richards. Stanley has played every position on the team, so it is hard to assign him a place, but he plays like a veteran wherever he is needed. His regular position is forward. Ivan Reed. Center. Reed came in during the last of the season, but his services could not be dispensed with. He is tall, can place the ball, and is a good goal shooter. Percy Button. Guard. Percy is a good guard and plays with lots of pep. He is a new man at the game, but is rapidly developing into form. Whenever needed, he fills a position with the ease of a veteran. Lawrence Tilley. Sub. W'hile not called into action much this year, Tilley has the pep and will develop into a regular next year.

Tal played all season with the ease of a veteran and always got his share of the gols. Tal has three more year with us and We expect great things of him. FRANK WEILAND, Junior. Forward. Frank is small but that only makes it easier for him to out- play his opponent. When a guard saw he had to guard Frank, he thought it was a joke, but he would soon find out he was against a veteran. Frank has had quite a bit of experience and knows the game from one end to the other. Frank has one more year with us. LEWIS EDWARDS, 'fShorty , Freshman. Guard. Shorty is the little fellow that made trouble for the opposing team. He is quick and is always breaking up the opposing play. Shorty is one of the best men in team work and also is a shark at marking long shots. Shorty has played basket ball all his life and shows his training well. Wie are going to make a regular out of him next year. IVAN REED, Academy. Center. Ivan is the tall lanky fellow that played center in two games and kept his opponent covered absolutely all the time. Ivan was new at the start, but he learned fast. He was steady at practice and had lots of pep. Ivan never had trouble at any time, in out jumping his opponent. He still has several years with us and We expect to make avatar out of him. ik. PREPS',.

Under the expert directions of Professor Noel they were put through lots of prac- tice. Every practice night the gymnasium was full of energetic girls who were anxious to make the team. They worked under the handicap of only one of last year's team being back, Captain Lowry. However, she is capable of filling the place of at least three girls, and is an unusually good captain. While this season cannot be said to have been exactly successful, we can say that we are proud of our girls' team. Mertie Lowry G.uard. Second season. A basket ball star that hails from Cairo. Tall enough to cover two girls. She can also throw goals. Inez Berry. Center. A good player who also played some last year. She is a good floor coverer and is fast on team work. Ruby Chapman. Guard. Miss Chapman is the real scrapper of the team. She is full of pep and constantly follows the ball. Grace Coleman. Forward. Grace is the little forward that always kept the other teams guessing. She is fast and shoots goals well. Marjorie Scoville. Guard. Marjorie was the basket ball player who was always covering her opponent. It wasn't Marjorie's fault if the oppos- ing team made a goal. , ' Grace Taylor. Guard. Whenever the opposing team saw Grace come on the floor they knew they were beaten. She is Butch's sister and that means lots. Edithe Killinger. Forward. She is a steady player, regular at prac- tice, and capable of filling any position on the team. Ethel Sheaff. Forward. She has played several seasons and is a very steady player, capable of shooting the most difficult goals.
