The visitors were compelled to depart with the small end of a 34 to 10 score. The next was with Peru in the first game of the trip. This was the fastest bunch the team was up against this year. Our men showed lack of team work and practice and had to leave the game with the Peruvians. Score, 28 to 12. The next on the trip was with Cotner. This was a hard fought contest in which the Cotnerites lived up to their name of Bulldogs . Score, 30 to 16. ' The last game of the trip, and as it turned out to be, the last of the year, was with York. Our team outplayed them throughout most of the game, but were not able to locate the basket. York was in fact, the luckiest bunch they were up against this year. Score, 31 to 11. CLARENCE LOWRY, Bud , Senior. Forward. Bud started out to play his fourth season with us, but he graduated in the middle of the year. He was with us, however, for two games and played a stellar roll. Bud is an all around basket ball player. He has been the fastest man on the team for several years. In every game Bud managed to get more goals than anyone else. When he started for the goal with the ball, nothing could stop him. We will miss Bud next year. GORDON TAFT, Gravy , Senior. Guard. This is Gravy's last year and we are surely going to miss him on next year's team. He is tall and it is almost impossible to get a ball over or around him. As a stationary guard he can't be beaten. Gravy is fast and has no trouble in keeping his man covered. More than one forward has said That tall Taft is the hardest man I ever played against . Good luck to you, Gravy. CLINTON JOHN, Clint , Sophomore. Forward. Clint gave us a good evidence of his ability in playing basket ball last year, so every effort was made to get him out this year. He is a perfect goal shooter and is a wizard on teamwork. He is able to handle the ball when he gets it, and knows what to do with it. Clint is fast and keeps his guard guessing all the time. He is a heady man and has justified his place as captain . We want you two more years. LOUIS GOLDENSTEIN, Louie , Junior. Guard. Louis started late in the season but came in strong at the finish. Louie is fast and husky and can easily keep up with his forward. At times his work was spectacular and at all times he played good ball. Louie could shoot goals and was excellent on team work. All you had to do was to let the ball come near Louie. Louie has one more year with us. BRUCE TAYLOR., 'tButch , Academy. Forward and Guard. Butch started the season at guard, but he got so many goals every game that he was shifted to forward. Butch is heavy, a hard player, and always is the dread of his opponent. His dribbling and shooting baskets is a feature and a Warning to all. We want Butch back next year. TALMAGE SMITH, Tal , Freshman. Center. Tal is a product of Grand Island High School and his bril- liant playing there made him a star in College ball. Tal is a good jumper and can play the signals perfectly. He is a wizard at shooting goals and

However, after the first few weeks' practice things began to look better. The hardest blow to the squad was the fact that Captain-elect Flynn did not return to school. Lowry also quit in the middle of the season, leaving a vacancy that was hard to fill. But with the veterans and the new men that came out a good team was developed. Although beaten in the first game, they showed that they were rapidly rounding into form. It is with much regret that we have to say that this team could not finish the seasong they only got to play five games, four of these away from home. By hard luck the team lost the four games away, but there is no doubt but that they could have won these on our floor. The first game was with Kearney on their floor. Our men got started poorly, and let the teachers get a good lead. Their center especially was lucky in placing many long shots. All during the last half, however, our men more than held their own. As it was, they lost the game 22 to 30, but it helped to revive their fighting spirit. The second game was also with Kearney, but on our floor. From the first the pedagogs did not have a chance. This was Lowry's last game and he seemed to want to make it his best. Our teamwork was superb and the

Tal played all season with the ease of a veteran and always got his share of the gols. Tal has three more year with us and We expect great things of him. FRANK WEILAND, Junior. Forward. Frank is small but that only makes it easier for him to out- play his opponent. When a guard saw he had to guard Frank, he thought it was a joke, but he would soon find out he was against a veteran. Frank has had quite a bit of experience and knows the game from one end to the other. Frank has one more year with us. LEWIS EDWARDS, 'fShorty , Freshman. Guard. Shorty is the little fellow that made trouble for the opposing team. He is quick and is always breaking up the opposing play. Shorty is one of the best men in team work and also is a shark at marking long shots. Shorty has played basket ball all his life and shows his training well. Wie are going to make a regular out of him next year. IVAN REED, Academy. Center. Ivan is the tall lanky fellow that played center in two games and kept his opponent covered absolutely all the time. Ivan was new at the start, but he learned fast. He was steady at practice and had lots of pep. Ivan never had trouble at any time, in out jumping his opponent. He still has several years with us and We expect to make avatar out of him. ik. PREPS',.
