Outside of repeated fumbling we could say the boys were back in their old form. Score, 28 to 0. ' The next game was with the big Freshmen from the University. When we saw them lined up on the field, we did not think we had a chance, they outweighing us at least fifteen pounds to a man. After the first quarter we decided they didn't have a chance. Two spectacular touchdowns were made and the other three counted just as much. They had to take the small end of a 35 to 0 score back to Lincoln with them. The next game was the big game of the year, we played Wesleyan on our home field. We had been trying to get a game with them for the last four years and this is the first time they would come across. Luck seemed to be against us that day, however, we made a remarkable showing with a score of 15 to 6. The feature of the game was our long end runs which kept the other team guessing all the time. ' We Went to Kearney for the next game, where they were laying for us to get even for the defeat of last year. But we played one of the best games of the season and kept them from even getting a good look at our goal. We could have beaten them worse, but we were willing to let them off with a 46 to 0 score in our favor. Our best asset that day was the for- ward pass, by which the longest gains were made. Taking Hastings on for the final game of the year we showed lots of nerve because they always put up lots of fight. However, this year we could not get any of that fight out of them, they simply let us get away with a 35 to O score. From the first they did not have a chanceg they could make no gains through our lines or around end, and to express it in a few words, we can say that they were simply out of luck . SECOND TE AM. While the second team this year was not as strong as in former years, it deserves much praise. Most of the men came out quite regularly and worked hard. In the lineup it is easy to pick out men that have the quali- fications of stars in years to come, if they will only develop themselves. A second team is essential to a good first team, and for other reasons also, efforts were made to keep the boys out in suits. Only one game was played this year and that was with Wood River High School. The High School was easily outplayed, but our team lacked the punch to put the ball over the line. If it had not been for a neat drop-kick we would have had to be contented with a tie game, but as it was we won and had the satisfaction of knowing that we had everything our way all during the game. Of the bunch, the following did the most to make the second team: Edwards, Owens, Button Bros., Tilly, Wieland, Nicholas, Southard, K. Taft and Richards.

However, after the first few weeks' practice things began to look better. The hardest blow to the squad was the fact that Captain-elect Flynn did not return to school. Lowry also quit in the middle of the season, leaving a vacancy that was hard to fill. But with the veterans and the new men that came out a good team was developed. Although beaten in the first game, they showed that they were rapidly rounding into form. It is with much regret that we have to say that this team could not finish the seasong they only got to play five games, four of these away from home. By hard luck the team lost the four games away, but there is no doubt but that they could have won these on our floor. The first game was with Kearney on their floor. Our men got started poorly, and let the teachers get a good lead. Their center especially was lucky in placing many long shots. All during the last half, however, our men more than held their own. As it was, they lost the game 22 to 30, but it helped to revive their fighting spirit. The second game was also with Kearney, but on our floor. From the first the pedagogs did not have a chance. This was Lowry's last game and he seemed to want to make it his best. Our teamwork was superb and the
