IN APPIQECIATICDIXI to Mzss Cora Edge, who is retiring after 32 years as an art instructor, 18 of them spent at Grand Haven. Her talent, vast experience, and back- ground have made her an inspiring and helpful teacher in the field of art. Friendly and ever ready to be of assistance, she devoted her life to bringing art to the students and the community. Miss Edge's enthusiasm was a definite asset, for her pupils seem to have caught some of her enthusiastic nature in their interest in art. Wie wish Miss Edge the greatest of happiness in the future. 6

DEDICATICDN For twenty-nine years the Grand Haven Public School system has grown under the leadership of Mr. Earl H. Babcock, who is retiring this year. This growth, very obvious in the size of buildings, number of teachers and of pupils, is just as great in the adequacy and quality of education offered to all of the people of Grand Haven. In addition to his work here, Mr. Babcock has been prominent in the work of the Michigan Education Association of which he was president. I-Ie has also served on many state educational committees, especially those interested in making school law. Mr. Babcock was the first superintendent to be awarded an honorary life membership in the Industrial Education Society of Michigan for his contribution in the Held of industrial education. With a sincere appreciation of the fact that we have had better opportunities for education because he was superintendent, we, the Class of '52, wish to dedicate this Blue and Gold to Mr. Earl H. Babcock. We wish him the best of luck and happiness in the future. 5
