Our football team this year had a successful season, winning Gve and losing three games. They were always a fighting team, even when on the losing side, and proved to be worthy opponents to schools much larger than Grand Haven High. September 19 Grand Haven defeated the Grand Rapids liastern team 28-0. I'he going was hard in the first quarter, but after that the team didn't have much trouble. The thrill of the game came when Claus Holtrop made a one-handed pass interception and ran for a touchdown. September 26 Our team defeated a green Ludington team 52-0. Our first touchdown came in the third minute of play when St. john intercepted a pass. Bolthouse then passed to Nagtzaam for the first touchdown. Wanda!! October 3 Muskegon defeated the Grand Haven eleven 20-6. The Muskegon team was in fine form and seemed to get all the breaks. Grand Haven received its only touch- down in the second quarter when Bolthouse passed to Nagtzaam. October 9 Scoring twice in the first half first on a pass and then following a blocked punt, Kalamazoo Central downed our team 13-0. Grand Haven came to life in the fourth quarter, but that was too late. The kicking, passing, and running of Bolthouse was an outstanding feature of the game. 'N :Xlf iN 64,6 new llw-O. Tony La Penna played a line defensive game with johnny Niemaszyk doing some pretty passing.
