Sa,eacm'e:wlewt'e Www Dear Students of G.C.H.S.: The year 1950-Sl has been uhique in several ways. The honor roll is a worthy venture and should result in an up- grade in scholarship. The new reporting system and the parent-teacher conferences have been a big step forward in improving scholastic achievement and bringing about better parent-teacher relations. The physical education department has shown growth in both girls' and boys' divisions. The football team brought honor to their school by winning the district championship and going to the state finals to make second place in the. state B division. The new trophy case, a gift of the Senior Class and Student Body of 1950, is an'attractive addition to the school and was honored its first year in the school by the addition of the district, state final and Lions' Club trophies. The English and speech department has shown good pro- gress by presenting a much improved quality of plays. This is commendable. The Sage Staff has done a very creditable piece of work in publishing a much improved Sage in the form of a printed issue rather than a mimeographed issue. This has taken planning and work to finance it but it has been well worth the effort put forth. The Mograndah is a good publication and the journalism staffs are all to be complimented. In fact, all departments have shown quite good progress, this in spite of many unavoidable breaks in the school year due to serious epidemics of illness. Dead- lines in yearbook publication prevents detailing results in music, commercial and other spring meets. But, we feel sure they will all give good accounts of themselves. To the Class of 1951 we say nGood luck and best wishes. To those students returning, we shall look forward to seeing you in September to launch another happy year of high school work. Sincerely, Superintendent
