After the jolt, grammar, has been passed, they journey on smoother roads through Spanish customs and folklore until they feel like a real Senor or 'lSeriorita. The roll of the tongue in pronouncing Spanish reveals a result of the indolence of these people. Pinatas, dances, and games make one really believe he is traveling in Spain or old Mexico and enjoy- ing their colorful customs. The vital part played by Latin derivatives in forceful English is revealed in the study of this dead classic lan- guage. This same vocabulary idea gave an unwary stu- dent bad moments when he couldn't tell whether invideo means I see or I envy. BERNICE BERDAN, B. Ed., M. A.
