A phase elective program for the tenth grade was begun this year with hopes of extending phases through the twelth grade. Phases range in content from Effective Writing to Funny Business. Also offered are American Studies, Creative Writing, Drama, AP English and Reading. A paper is published by the department each monthg plans are being made to publish a creative writing booklet in the spring. As well as emphasizing study of the word, English has become a study of human communication in all aspects of life.
