Mr. Imperial conducts the Senior Band. Mr. Thomas leads Cirlhs Chorus in song. MUSIC DEPARTMENT The Music Department of Granby High School provides an outlet for students to de- velop and display their talents. Under the direction of Mr. Leo Imperial, the band mas- ters musical skills, and performs several times yearly. The chorus, ably led by Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Walden, and accompanied by Mrs. Secrest, is given the opportunity to learn the art of singing. Mrs. Walden keeps time for her students.

BUSINESS DEPARTMENT The Business Department prepares students for careers in the business world. Background for office jobs is provided by courses in bookkeeping, business math, typing7 business law and shorthand. Opportunities for experience in the world of business are offered in the Vocational Of- fice Training and Distributive Education pro- grams. The V.O.T. program trains pupils for future office employment. The D.E. pro- gram gives students experience in all fields of business. INDUSTRIAL ARTS DEPARTMENT The Industrial Arts Department provides students with an opportunity to learn creative skills. The Depart- ment offers courses in Art, Home Economics, Me- chanical Drawing, and various shops including Metal Shop, Print Shop, and Wood Shop. Home Economics classes are so oriented as to teach girls lessons which may prove valuable in their lives as homemakers. Boys learn through shop courses to create and build useful objects.
