SOCIAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT The Social Studies Department provides the studenttwith an extensive knowledge of the world around him. The social sci- ences are studied on the level of World History, American History, and Govern- ment. World History and American His- tory serve to give the pupil background for the study of Government. Problems of Democracy deels with the plight of the United States in the present world situa- tion, and therefore builds a good founda- tion for future leadership. SCIENCE DEPARTMENT The Science Department helps to give pu- pils technical knowledge of the surrounding universe. General Science offers a basis for the higher sciences. Biology deals with the study of all living things, While Horticulture offers emphasis on plant life. Physical Ge- ography includes the study of the earth struc- ture. For students interested in pursuing high- er scientific studies, Chemistry and Physics courses are provided.
