As the band started play- ing, shoes came off, and couples began to rock and roll with great abandon. Others listened to the music and visited as they watch- ed everyone enjoy themselves. As Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins danced dteamily, the hour ar- rived when Mother Goose must stan her homeward journey. As the last strains of music faded into the night, Supt. and Mrs. Smith and the Juniors sighed with relief that the banquet had been a success. On a rainy Friday evening, May 2, 1958, the Seniors, Juniors, and their guests rushed into the Monett Park Casino into a world of fantasy. Mother Goose had waved her magic wand and left a gaily decorated banquet room and a feast fit for old King Cole. After a fabulous dinner the guests were welcomed by James Goade. Ray Stussy, Senior President, expressed the appreciation of all the guests for all the time and energy expended by the Juniors Sandy Shewmake expressed the regrets felt by the classes at the parting of the many friends at graduation. Connie Arnall took us down memory lane in the mentioning of the things long ago forgotten. After this the guests all left the banquet room, so that the tables could he cleared for dancing.
