Mr. Bryce Schurr, Principal Granada Hills High School 10535 Zelzah Avenue Granada Hills, California Dear Mr. Schurr: Thank you for your letter of Ianuary 30 which tells that the Yearbook Council has decided to deepen the interest in Iapan and strengthen the mutual friend- ship between us. In our school also, both teachers and students have formally resolved to do the best efforts so that our school may be a sister school of Granada Hills High School. Dr. Kiyeshi Sugito, Mayor of Nagoya City, who is a graduate of our school, is very glad to hear our decision. He says that the Mayor of your city and his attendants will come to Nagoya. I think that the exchange of school symbols will be serviceable to foster a better under- standing between us. Will you please, then, ask the Mayor of your city to bring the symbol of your school and to make a formal visit to Nagoya Gakuin when he comes: then I will ask him to take the symbol of our school to Granada Hills High School. If you kindly agree to this proposal of mine, I will hasten in preparing for it, as we have not much time left. I will send the photographical chron- ical of our school and the latest article from the Mainichi Newspaper under separate cover. Hoping for the friendly relations be- tween Arnerica and lapan, and for the peace of the world through the education of young people, I remain, Yours sincerely, Kazue Suekane .J 'r as UPN ' Y !',L,w 7 fr 'Y if r qt , f' 1 4 v E fi If gi , K is dk.. , f: -ft' 3:1 A1
