SIGNATURE: Red Sox scout Edward Scott watched intently as All-American Candy Robinson signed ,the annual bonus binge at Grambling College. Robinson staked his baseball future with Boston after receiving impassing scrutiny from half the clubs in the American and National Leagues. GRAMBLING PHOTO Heap Big Smile Orioles Sign John Wyatt Speedy John Wyatt of Grambling, who generates ooh's and aah's with his fielding, hitting and dazzling efforts on the base path, signed a bonus contract with the Baltimore Orioles. The promising 21-year-old outfielder was assigned to Bluefield, W. Va., of the Appalanchian League. No bonus figure was an- nounced. An effortless performer with an accurate throwing arm, W3'att led Grambling in stolen bases, hits and total lmses. He gets clown the line in 3.8 seconds. Quite logically, he was voted the team's most valuable player in the recent NAIA national tournament where the Tigers advanced into the finals for the second straight year. Wyatt is described as having enormous potential. Assistant Coach Frank Ensley said, He runs, throws and hits with exuberance. Along with his speed, Ensley added tliat, Wyatt possesses remarkable reflexes and confidence that enables him to turn sure hits into routine outs. Wyatt hits left and throws right. He batted .321 in 30 games. The artful 182-pound athlete is a recent graduate with a BS. degree in health and physical education. Three members of the 1964 Grambling squad have signed bonus contracts with major league clubs. 125
